My name is Bruce Wing and I'm the founder of Strategic Wealth.
The beginning of my career in financial services started in Atlanta in the early 90's. I was always good at math and a pretty logical thinker, so I naturally became a student of this business. Like many advisers, I learned a lot about economics, investments and insurance. Because I have always been interested in increasing my expertise, I invested a lot of time to learn more about about tax law, trusts, employee benefits, and business entities. That is why I now have four financial planning designations (e.g. Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Life Underwriter, Registered Health Underwriter, and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant). As a result of that technical knowledge, I was recruited to the corporate side of the financial services business and eventually became the Senior Vice President of Transamerica's Wealth Management Division. There, I led the team that provided the expertise in business and estate planning to the private clients of many of the largest banks in the United States. Of course, that corporate progress came with relocations that took me and my family from Atlanta to Kansas City and then to Charlotte. I also had offices in Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Baltimore, and Boston. I left the corporate world and became a partner in a brokerage firm in California working with thousands of independent advisors across the country. It was a fun experience but - while Southern California is beautiful - my wife and I missed the green grass, huge trees, and warm water of the South. As a result, we moved back home.
Strategic Wealth was founded because of the gaps in the marketplace I could see from my previous position as a senior officer of a Fortune 500 organization. Too many people - especially small and medium size business owners that had more unique needs - weren't being served well. And few in the advisory profession were working to use technology to make the client experience more enjoyable. I had the expertise and the desire to address those needs, so Strategic Wealth was born!

There are three things that came together that allowed this to happen. First, I have a wife and family that I love. Second, we're passionate about being creative and values oriented in our work. Third, we live in an age where technology can make a boutique firm as good, if not better, than a large one.
It's a fun ride and we enjoy making a difference.
